Alexandra Leeder
Alexandra has more than 15 years of experience as a gymnastics coach.
Originally from the UK, Alexandra obtained a BSc (hons) in Sports Coaching, writing her dissertation on the psychological preparation of gymnasts for high level competition.
Since moving to Australia in 2014, Alexandra has been managing a gymnastics program, coaching national-level squads and conducting private lessons in the Sydney area.
You’ll also occasionally find her tumbling with the gymnasts; Alex was a competitive athlete until she was 18 years old and can still keep up (almost).

Alexandra has Australian and British Gymnastics qualifications.

Meet Coach Tanya!
Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Coach from the UK with 20+ years of experience!
Now based in Sydney with her family, Tanya brings passion, knowledge, and a deep love for developing strong, confident gymnasts.
She proudly coached Freya Hill to the British Disability Championships for three consecutive years – an incredible achievement and journey.

Hannah
Meet Coach Hannah!
With over 5 years of coaching experience and an impressive background as a national-level gymnast, Hannah brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to our gymnastics team. Hannah trained as a gymnast for 13 years, Hannah has honed her skills in acrobatics, flexibility, and strength.
As a dedicated coach, Hannah loves sharing her expertise and enthusiasm for gymnastics with young athletes. She has a special fondness for working with children aged 3-5 years, finding joy in nurturing her early love for the sport and watching them achieve their first milestones.
Hannah’s classes are filled with energy, encouragement, and a focus on building strong foundations in acro and flexibility. Her commitment to creating a fun and supportive environment ensures that each child feels confident and excited to learn.
Hannah has her Gymnastics Australia Intermediate Acrobatics qualification. She also has her Certificate III in Early Childhood education.

Alara
Meet Coach Alara!
Coach Alara is a former State level WAG gymnast with 6 years of training and a deep love for the sport. Her enthusiasm and extensive experience make her a fantastic addition to our team. Alara is dedicated to sharing her passion and helping younger children discover the joy of gymnastics.
With 2 years of coaching experience, Alara has worked with kids’ birthday parties, acro, and recreational teams. She a years experience in supervising younger children at a gym creche while their parents work out. Her journey with children started at age 12 through babysitting and nannying for various families.
Currently, Alara is pursuing a Bachelor in Management with a focus on sports and events. Her classes are not only fun but also prioritise safety, ensuring every participant has a great experience.

Zara
Meet Coach Zara!
Zara started gymnastics at three years old, having tried WAG, Acro, and even diving. She grew up doing competitive gymnastics and stopped at twelve, only to pick it back up in University! Training gymnastics again as an adult inspired Zara to start coaching children, hoping they, too, can find joy in the sport.
Zara has worked at Onyx for over a year now, coaching recreation and Acro/tumbling classes, as well as doing lots of parties f She wants gymnasts to enjoy channeling their energy into having fun at gymnastics, and feeling proud of their hard work.
Zara is studying a bachelor of exercise physiology, which helps inform the way she trains and coaches. The classes she coaches are focussed on positive experiences and establishing solid foundational skills so that gymnasts can stay safe while they train.

Jasmine
Meet Coach Jasmine!
Jasmine grew up training State level WAG in the US for 10 years. After a short break in high school, she got back into it as soon as she could, joining her university’s gymnastics club.
Her passion for the sport and love of working with kids made coaching the obvious next step!
Having worked at Onyx for just over a year, Jasmine has had a wide range of coaching experience, including recreational, tumbling, and competitive classes. She focuses on helping gymnasts to achieve strong basics with good technique, while also having lots of fun.
Jasmine is so excited to continue helping her gymnasts grow and learn, while nurturing the same love for the sport that she has. She coaches classes built on positivity, confidence, and fun, and looks forward to helping gymnasts achieve new skills in a safe environment.

Cayden
Meet Coach Cayden!
Cayden is a former acrobatic gymnast, and is now a state level figure skater and dancer. Cayden trained as a gymnast for five years, acquiring a love for the sport and the knowledge necessary to coach.
With 2 years of coaching experience, Cayden has coached and assisted many classes and birthday parties. Cayden enjoys bringing a friendly attitude towards classes while helping the students achieve and improve on skills in a safe and secure environment.
Cayden loves helping kids through all aspects of gymnastics, but holds an even greater appreciation for teaching routines and coaching floor. As a dancer and former acrobatic gymnast, Cayden has spent a lot of time honing his ability to craft and assist students with artistic expression and movement.
